Michael Cole announced what the new WWE “Transfer Window” is all about. The effects began in the opening segment of the December 6th WWE Smackdown episode in Minneapolis, MN. It looks like it’s going to shake things up fast.
Raw’s Chad Gable and American Made (Julius and Brutus Creed with Ivy Nile) came out on WWE Smackdown during Cody Rhodes’ opening promo. This set up a Cody vs Chad Gable main event despite Gable being on WWE Raw. This is allowed because of the new “Transfer Window” policy.
WWE Transfer Window Explained
Cole informed us that the WWE is implementing a “Transfer Window” ahead of WWE Raw moving to Netflix. As many changes are coming in the next couple of weeks, the WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown and WWE NXT general managers are working together to seemingly move superstars from one brand to another.
What hasn’t been clarified is whether these changes will be temporary or permanent. The Unlocked Info believes it’s simply a rule that gives superstars the freedom to go from one brand to the next. Basically this is because WWE wants Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and The Bloodline on the first couple of WWE Raw on Netflix episodes. This rule will ensure that they can appear there and it makes sense to fans in the storyline.
Many fans will compare this to the 2019 “Wild Card Rule” which was extremely unpopular and met with bad feedback. Fans were relieved back then when WWE Smackdown on FOX deal started. It ended the Wild Card Rule and returned both shows to consistent assigned rosters.
The Unlocked Info will be providing more information as it becomes available.
