TNA Wrestling

Am I crazy? I must be because I don’t see many of you talking about tonight’s PPV. What? Do you think the PPV is tomorrow? Well, no it’s not. (Yes, WWE has a PLE tomorrow, but…) TNA Wrestling is putting on their Against All Odds PPV tonight, June 14th in Cicero, IL.

If you are like me and haven’t been watching TNA Wrestling in a while. Maybe this is the sign for you to watch tonight. I’m going to give them another chance. I used to watch them consistently, but in the last year or so, it seems like it’s the one that I struggle to watch. However, with the new partnership with WWE and the backstage firings, I’m hoping that they are bringing interesting creative along with some great matches.

Steve Maclin and Mike Santana vs. The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel)

I’m going to tell you about some of the matches and this one is the one that I have to start with. I know you probably thought I would start with one of the four Championship matches like most do. Sorry, I can’t do that for you. This may be a match that steals the show.

How can any match that has The Rascalz in it not be up to steal the show? Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel are super athletic and ready to show out anytime they are in the ring. You better watch them closely or you may miss the next viral move…the next wrestling whooooaaaa moment. Their transitions and team moves are so smooth.

However, tonight they are taking on two powerhouse singles wrestlers, Mike Santana and Steve Maclin. Yes, that Mike Santana of the AEW Pride and Powerful tag team, but he’s so much more than that. After his comeback from a serious knee injury, he is showing why fans are so excited to see him. Yes, that Steve Maclin…Deonna Purrazzo’s husband. No, I’m just joking. Maclin is an unbelievable wrestler that many fans have followed from NXT to TNA Wrestling. He is a model of power and quickness. There’s a big difference between being quick and being fast. Maclin is quick.

After numerous issues with The Rascalz, Maclin approached Santana to help him out. Santana said his tag team days are over. Maclin responded that they both have issues with The Rascalz, which need to be taken care of. Well, I truly believe it is taken care of tonight with a win by Maclin and Santana.

TNA Knockouts Championship: Jordynne Grace versus TBA

It seems like the reigning Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace has been the talk of the wrestling world for the last month or so. Showing up and surprising everyone on WWE NXT has really shown her star power. On June 9th, she lost to WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez. Tonight, she will be using an open challenge for her title.

It seems like everyone is expecting someone from WWE NXT to show up and accept it. Personally, I’m hoping for Nattie. However, she has had backstage vignettes with both Arianna Grace and Tatum Paxley. Grace is looking for a storyline due to Gigi Dolin getting hurt. Paxley is the one at the end of the NXT Perez vs Grace match that was lusting after Grace’s Knockout Championship. I’m excited to see who it could be and where it could lead.

Joe Hendry w/ Ace Steel versus Frankie Kazarian

On June 13th, I thought it was kind of funny that Joe Hendry said he was getting the help of someone who knows about helping someone become the best in the world. Ace Steel trained CM Punk who uses the moniker of “Best in the World.” I guess it’s the age difference in some wrestling fans who wouldn’t know about that if they started watching wrestling recently.

Frankie Kazarian walked into the picture and a match was made after Hendry and “Kaz” went back and forth. So this is what is considered a storyline? Oh well, it should be a good match with Kazarian making Hendry look as good as he can. Hendry has been promoting himself on the music charts. It’s time for TNA Wrestling to capitalize on that.
