As WWE has been doing regularly, they filmed the next segment of the WWE Speed Championship. After Friday Night’s Smackdown in Louisville, Kentucky, there was a WWE Speed Championship change. Yes, that means that Ricochet is no longer the WWE Speed champion. Ricochet was crowned the inaugural champion on April 26th (it aired on May 3rd).
Andrade as Champ
Andrade is the second-ever wrestler to hold the title. He got a championship show by winning the number one contender’s tournament that WWE has been holding. He defeated Karl Anderson in the first round and then Tommaso Ciampa in the second round. Andrade versus Ciampa was also taped on Friday, June 7th. It will air on WWE Speed next Wednesday, June 12th. The episode premieres at 12:00 pm EST on Twitter/X.
If WWE Speed follows its usual format then we will see the Ricochet versus Andrade championship change should air on Friday, June 14th episode.
Andrade moved to WWE Smackdown in the 2024 WWE Draft. He has been feuding with Legado Del Fantasma on the brand.
WWE Speed premiered this April as part of a deal between WWE and Twitter/X. Elon Musk is said to be very happy with it. Matches on WWE Speed have a three-minute time limit. It is expanded to five minutes for championship matches.
