Wow, Dax Harwood with a devastating hematoma is now out of action. Harwood took to social media on Monday, June 10th. He explained that he and his tag team partner, Cash Wheeler are being taken off the road. Harwood needs to recover from a hematoma suffered in April that he has been attempting to work through without telling anyone.
Dax Harwood’s Statement
As you can see above, Harwood apologized to Tony Khan and other AEW Staff in a Twitter/X video post. He said that he should have been upfront about his situation for the last few months. Then he said that after giving Matt Jackson a piledriver at AEW Dynasty in April, he messed up his lower back “really, really bad.” It caused a severe hematoma. However, Dax wanted to work through it because he didn’t want to take himself and Wheeler off the road.
On AEW Collision this past weekend after his match with the Blackpool Combat Club, he said the hematoma grew to the size of a football while icing it backstage. Harwood stated, “The pain has been at the very, very, very minimum, the pain has been excruciating over the last few months.”
Saturday’s Night Match (June 8th)
After Saturday’s match, Harwood informed AEW’s Doc Sampson about the situation. He was taken off the road and told to get an x-ray of his pelvis on Monday, June 10th. He explained he didn’t want to tell anyone because he didn’t want FTR to be taken off TV. Doc Sampson told him that he needed to rest the injury or it could lead to possible retirement.
Dax Harwood also said, “I don’t know how long this is going to last. I don’t know how long we’re gonna have to be off, but unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for some of you people that don’t like FTR, myself and Cash will not be on television for a while. I have to rest this thing up.”
He noted that he has had a lot of sleepless nights as he can’t get in a comfortable position at night. He hopes that when FTR comes back they will be better than ever.
