The first ten wrestlers in the 2024 CMLL Grand Prix have been announced. This is a CMLL staple pitting ten of Mexico’s biggest names against ten standout talents from across the wrestling world. It is an annual tournament that was held from 1994 to 2008. No tournaments were held in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2004.
Three people have won the tournament twice: Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Ultimo Guerrero, and Volador Jr. The most recent set of matches was in 2019. Wrestlers from the United States and Puerto Rico participated on the “International” side. Volador Jr. defeated Negro Casas to win the 2019 Gran Prix.
The First Announced Part of Each Team
This year, Team Mexico is headlined by Templario. Also announced as part of the team are Mistico, Titan, Ultimo Guerrero, and Ring of Honor World Television Champion, Atlantis Jr.
Team Rest of the World also announced some of their wrestlers’ names. It included MLW CONTRA’s Ikuro Kuon, CMLL’s Flip Gordon, RevPro’s Robbie X, AEW/NJPW’s Rocky Romero, and AEW’s Kyle Fletcher.
The Grand Prix
The tournament matches are set to take place in Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico on August 23, 2024. More wrestlers will be announced in the coming days. We will bring you the updates to the card as they are announced. The Unlocked Info will give you the results after the card occurs.
