AEW Should Be Getting Sammy Guevara and Others Back Soon

AEW Owner and President Tony Khan should be getting Sammy Guevara and other wrestlers back soon. Former AEW TNT Champion Guevara has been out of action since February. He was suspended due to a protocol issue regarding his match with Jeff Hardy. Over a month after Hardy himself left the company, Guevara could be poised to return. Or at least it’s been discussed. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned that Guevara’s return to TV has been discussed over the last few weeks. It should be noted that Guevara has not been suspended over the last couple of months. He has simply not been on television.

Guevara’s last match was a heavily praised No DQ match against Powerhouse Hobbs, the week after his match with Jeff Hardy. I have been hearing that Sammy will be back at Blood and Guts next week in Nashville, but we are going to have to wait and see if they have anything for him. Personally, I hope that Sammy isn’t put back with Jericho for the billionth time. I know they love working with each other, but Sammy’s character needs a new start. Hopefully, Tony Khan will give it to him.

Tay Melo

Tay Melo has been out of action since confirming at AEW Double or Nothing in May 2023 that she was pregnant. Her little girl, Luna, was born on November 28, 2023. Since the first of the year on IG, Melo has been posting many of her workouts. Recently she has been posting her ring workouts showing some moves and talking about it in her IG stories. Right now, I’m sure it is about having enough time for the women on a show. I look for her to come back as Sammy Guevara, her husband, does. Hopefully, they will get her back into the mix with a storyline on AEW Rampage.

Charlette Renegade

Fightful Select has learned that Charlette Renegade was backstage at the AEW Dynamite July 17th episode. After being out of action for all of 2024 so far, they were told that she was taking steps to finally get cleared. Sources that Fightful spoke to indicated that she’s been working to get cleared for quite some time. Both of the Renegades were backstage at the show. Sources indicate that the two have gotten close with Mercedes Mone of late.
