John Cena and Randy Orton are going to meet in the ring again. I can’t wait for it.
During the April 25th WWE SmackDown, these two longtime rivals met up once again after the April 21st WWE Raw where Orton hit his RKO on Cena. He accused Cena of letting down children who believed in his words while they were growing up. Cena responded back that all he did was raise other people’s children. Orton came back with the fact that he wasn’t going to allow Cena to ruin wrestling. He challenged Cena to a WWE championship match right then and there in Fort Worth, Texas. But with the crowd going wild, John Cena refused. Cena said he wasn’t defending it on WWE SmackDown.
However, John Cena did say he would defend it in Randy Orton’s hometown of St. Louis at WWE Backlash on May 10th. Then we saw the segment ending with Cena cheapshotting Orton by throwing the WWE Championship at Orton and attacking him with mounted punches on the mat. Cena was looking to use the title to hit Orton, but Orton dodged Cena while hitting the RKO.
My Opinion
Am I the only one who thinks this interaction has started a better build already than John Cena vs Cody Rhodes from the second night of WrestleMania 41? Cena beat Rhodes with a distraction by Travis Scott, allowing him to hit Cody with the championship. Is this what we have to look forward to? No more Roman Reigns ref bumps with his cousins hitting the ring. We’re going to get Cena using the championship to hit someone. Not sure why we can’t get some better stories. However, at least we can depend on Randy Orton giving us a little more and pushing Cena to come back at him.
